Giving Tuesday: Raise the Roof, Restore the Hope!

Our highlight story this Giving Tuesday is about a couple we met while serving on a mission trip this past summer. They've called their house in Seymour, CT their home for years. It’s where they raised their children, celebrated birthdays under the backyard trees, and welcomed neighbors with love, laughter, and lemonade. Their deck was once the heart of it all—a place for prayer, storytelling, and connection.

But after years of harsh winters, rising medical costs, and the quiet shift of an empty nest, that beloved deck became unsafe. Cracked boards and unstable steps made it difficult to enjoy retirement, host family, or even exit their home safely.

That’s where our youth team stepped in. With hammers, heart, and hope, they rebuilt more than a deck—they restored dignity, safety, and the spirit of hospitality that’s always lived in the couple's home.
